In case anyone's been looking for one. Sadly it's a medium so it's too small for my husband.

It's pretty close to this one:

Hey everyone!

Just recently found this community and I'm so excited!
I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to cosplaying and I've decided to start out semi-easy. I want to do Kaylee from the Pilot episode but I'm having trouble finding the shoes was was wearing, I think they were large sole flip flops? If I could get any help even finding some similar to them(I'm not very picky and I certainly don't expect my costume to be 100% screen accurate.)that would be wonderful. :D

Hey there, some folks might remember be as that Canadian Jayne Cobb at DragonCon and the Polaris (Formerly Toronto Trek) convention a while back.  Well, the local paper has a feature that profiles people in Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada who do interesting things, such as a
police dispatcher, a geocacher and a track coach in his 70's.  I got contacted for a photographer to follow my colleagues at an event in my
ALIENS costume.

So what does any of this have to do with Firefly?

Watch the photo slide show in the early parts during my outfit preperation for a view of one of the iconic symbols of Firefly, and in the text write up you'll see another shout-out to Firely ;)

Hope to see who I can at DragonCon in September :) Cheers

New Firefly Dress up in the shop! There had been some requests and who am I to stand in the way of your happiness? Perfect for all those Browncoats out there who like dresses. Hey, I don't judge if you're a dude who likes a pretty frock.

I also added a Ladies Tentacle Tank for the upcoming Summah months. Stay hawt ladies. And by hawt, I mean sexxxay.

So interesting story. I'd put together a Kaylee outfit as my "comfortable" wear, book-ending my actual costume for a competition at an anime convention.

Kaylee got WAY more requests for photo ops than the actual anime character I went as. I love my fandom.

Some photos I don't mind sharin'. Collapse )

I'm really hoping to find that picture someone took of me and a WONDERFUL House. Had the cane and the bottle of pills and everything! Told him I had a thing for cranky doctors~.

Because I know the question's been asked, yes, that's the shirt from the pilot, the Karen Kane shirt, and I found it through a random search for Karen Kane stuff on ebay. Got lucky. Be patient and I'm sure another will pop up! There are also a lot of really nice, colorful knit shirts to be found that work just as well.

Has anyone figured out what the pattern is on Kaylee's silk brocade jacket that she wears in the Pilot episode?  Any good recommendations on where to acquire a similar one or material to make one?

I have been searching all over the net for fabric (searched through the tags on the Comm as well) and haven't really found anything accurate.  Would appreciate any and all help.  Thank you!

Hey all,
Long time lurker, first time poster...have scrounged the internets far and wide in search for a good Kaylee shirt. I've resigned myself to the fact that I won't find the shirt from the pilot episode.
So I'm looking for the red t-shirt she wore under the coveralls in the Train job episode,
or the purple flower long sleeve shirt in the promo shots.

The coveralls, I lucked out on them, hubby was a Marine, and he worked on fighter jets, so my coveralls really are covered in engine grease. I need to cut and hem the sleeves and cut the right pocket. Searching this site, I found all the patches I'll need and the writing (you guys are freaking fierce in your costumes).

I can post a couple of screencaps of kaylee in the red shirt in the train job.
(I've been all over ebay and back, and the only remotely similar shirt I found is an xs, and I'm gonna need a M/L)

Any help would be muchly appreciated!!
